Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the result. Rosemount Residents Directory does not retain a separate copy of those searches. A message sent to us contains the information you choose to include and is used to respond.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our hosting keeps ordinary server logs: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We look at this in aggregate to keep the site healthy and to see which pages readers use. Cookies or similar technologies may support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How Limited Data Is Used
We use limited operational data to run the reference, identify technical problems, understand aggregate visits, and improve its pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data a website holds. Minnesota’s Consumer Data Privacy Act, Minn. Stat. §§ 325M.10–.21, contains rights and scope rules for covered controllers; it does not place Dakota County, Rosemount, court, voter, or other public records under our control. Because this reference keeps very little, requests normally concern a contact message or server log. Use the Contact page to ask, and contact the proper custodian about a government record.
Policy Changes
We will post any revision to this policy here. Continued use after the posting date indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
